Everything you need to know about custom catios and outdoor cat enclosures.
Common Questions
How much does a custom catio cost?
Most custom catios in the Bay Area run between $3,500 and $18,000 depending on size, materials, and finish. Window catios and patio conversions can be lower.
How long does it take to build a catio?
Design typically takes 1โ2 weeks; build is usually 2โ5 days on-site. Larger or more elaborate catios may take 1โ3 weeks.
Do I need a permit?
Most catios under 120 sq ft don't require a permit in San Jose. If yours does, we handle the paperwork.
What materials do you use?
Cedar or redwood framing, 16-gauge powder-coated welded wire mesh, and stainless or galvanized hardware.
Are catios safe from predators?
Yes โ when built correctly. We bury or skirt mesh at the base and use heavy-gauge welded wire to keep raccoons, coyotes, and birds of prey out.
Will my cat actually use it?
Almost always. We provide a step-by-step introduction guide, and most cats adapt within days.
Is your work warrantied?
Yes โ every build comes with a written workmanship warranty.
Do you build in apartments and rentals?
Yes โ our window catios are renter-friendly and require no permanent modifications.
